From Sanya to Southeast Asia: How Hainan Fengjing Reshapes the Golf Cart Supply Chain

2026-08-15 08:31:22

When international buyers search for a reliable Chinese golf cart factory for the Southeast Asian market, they usually care about three things: cost, delivery time, and after-sales support. Hainan Fengjing Technology has solved all three by building a dual-base manufacturing network, anchored by its home facility in Hainan Free Trade Port and a sister plant in Cambodia that increasingly serves Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and neighboring markets.

The Cambodia plant was established to solve two persistent pain points faced by Southeast Asian customers: logistics cost and delivery lead time. Shipping a 4-seat electric golf cart directly from southern China to Bangkok takes around 35 to 45 days, including ocean transit and customs clearance. The same unit shipped from the Cambodia facility can reach most Thai destinations in 7 to 10 days by road plus short cross-border transit—an improvement of more than 60 percent on the logistics side. For Thai golf course operators running tight turnover cycles, this shift to regional manufacturing allows weekly replenishment instead of the traditional quarterly cycle. After a second expansion completed in 2024, the Cambodia facility now produces up to 300 electric utility vehicles per month, with the same process standards as the Hainan base, covering 2-seat to 8-seat golf carts, LFP-powered sightseeing vehicles, agricultural UTVs, and other utility models.

The Cambodia plant also enables climate-specific engineering. Southeast Asia deals with high heat, humidity, and frequent storms, conditions that standard equipment often struggles with. Hainan Fengjing designed a Tropical Edition specifically for these conditions, with upgraded electrical protection, improved battery thermal management, and corrosion-resistant body materials. The Tropical Edition sightseeing vehicle has become a standard fleet choice for resorts in Phuket, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai in Thailand, and is also widely adopted in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia. To extend the same advantages to municipal buyers, the company recently added assembly lines for export trailers and refuse bin lifters at the Cambodia site, supporting more public-sector tenders across the region.

The dual-base model is not a static split of "China 1.0 plus overseas 2.0." Instead, it is a dynamic rebalancing driven by actual order flow. The Hainan base handles long-haul orders for the Americas, Europe, and Australia. The Cambodia base handles short-haul orders for Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South Asia. Capacity, inventory, and raw materials across the two sites are scheduled through a unified MES system, giving overseas buyers the scale and quality control of Chinese manufacturing together with the speed and flexibility of regional delivery. Combined with ISO9001 certification and a service network covering major destinations, Hainan Fengjing Technology is repositioning what it means to be a Chinese golf cart factory in 2026—from a low-cost exporter to a globally capable premium manufacturing brand.
